Course Abstracts/Summary

This interactive series of free CME courses is based on presentations recently given at cutting-edge national seminars and meetings by experts in the fields of Alzheimer's disease and dementia in general. These exciting new courses include multimedia slides, audio, video, and animations and provide up-to-date information on the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of Alzheimer's disease. This course is accredited for 1.5 hours of AMA PRA category 1 credit.

This course is jointly sponsored by the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ), New Jersey Medical School, Department of Internal Medicine, UMDNJ-Center for Continuing and Outreach Education and eMedicine. UMDNJ Center for Continuing and Outreach Education is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

UMDNJ-Center for Continuing and Outreach Education designates this educational activity for a maximum of 1.5 category 1 credits toward the AMA Physician's Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those credits that he/she actually spent in the activity.

Course Objectives

After participating in this program, the attendees will be better able to:

• Recognize and identify the symptoms and warning signs of AD and perform practical diagnostic and assessment procedures for the early diagnosis of AD
• Formulate optimal care management plans for patients with AD while balancing the need for treatment efficacy and patient safety
• Critically evaluate emerging therapies for patients at any stage of AD and use different treatment strategies that benefit the patient
